In 2010 the Education Secretary announced that all maintained primary, secondary and special schools will be eligible to become academies, subject to either having outstanding Ofsted reports, or by working in partnership with a high-performing school.
This has led to many schools looking at becoming academies, with the inherent benefits that the new status brings them, including setting their own curriculum, term times, admissions policies, staff structure and the fact that they will own their own buildings and land. There are also a number of additional responsibilities and challenges – including new financial reporting and accounting requirements.
We can help you from an early stage in your decision making by carrying out due diligence to ensure you get the new academy off to the right start, through to carrying out all of your accountancy services if you have already converted.
Our full range of services will include:
- An annual audit
